Lagada village is just 16 kilometres north-east of the centre of Chios town and it is located in the small bay of Kolokithias. Lagada village is the one of the villages of the municipality of Omiroupoli along with Vrontados village, Karies village, Sikiada village, Avgonima village, Anavatos village and Sidirounta village. Lagada village is known for its amphitheatric layout along a valley (lagada in Greek) and it is surrounded by olives, fritterer trees, and water. The Lagada village crosses the water channel of Glifos as well as the Krikeli River. The architecture of the village consists of narrow alleys, white low houses with beautiful fragrant gardens. The village was built by the residents of Kidianta village, an old and deserted village, who came here during the decades of ’10 and ’40 due to the civil war. Due to the landscape of the area and the barren area it was difficult to deal systematically with agriculture and this was mainly in the winter. That is why most of the residents of Lagada village are sailors or cattle breeders
