Karfas beach, almost 7 km's south by the city of Chios, is most probably the most well known and cosmopolitan beach of the island that attracts tourist's crowds. It has a maginificent shallow water sandy beach ideal for various activities and sunbathing, especially for young children. The sea bottom is covered by sand without any pebbles or seaweed at all, even at a great distance by the shore. The beach is well organised, it offers life resquer services, umbrellas and sunbeds. As the biggest touristic centre of the island, Karfas can offer also intensive night life. Around the area also can be found many bars and cafeterias that offer all kinds of entertainment, while interesting greek nights are being organised by the local hotels.
