welcome to chios island

Kato Fana

Kato Fana is an almost deserted sandy beach in the whereabouts of south Chios, 30 kms southwest by the city of Chios and 6 kms south by the medieval mastic village of Pirgi.

It presents also significant archaeological interest, since at a very close vincinity to the beach can be found the ancient ruins of Faneou Apollo Temple. The characterisation Faneou owes it's name due to the fact that  there, according to the tradition, was revealed to Leto the place of birth of God Apollo, Delos island.

Access to the beach can occur only with private means since there is not scheduled a regular bus line.
